PVC (uPVC) is thermally broken by design, meaning the inside and outside of the frame are separated — preventing heat and cold transfer through the material.

To achieve similar insulation in aluminium, you need to add a thermal break inside the frame, which roughly doubles the price of a standard aluminium window.

In simple terms:
If you touch a non-thermally broken aluminium frame on a cold Wellington morning, you’ll feel the chill — just like grabbing a scaffold pole in winter. PVC and thermally broken aluminium prevent that temperature transfer, keeping your home warmer and more comfortable.

• PVC: Available in a limited colour range (usually 3 options). Slightly bulkier frame profile, which some customers view as less sleek.

Double Glazing (Standard)
All our windows come double glazed as standard.
While triple glazing increases performance slightly, it also adds size, weight, and cost — and for Wellington’s temperate climate, the benefits usually don’t justify the upgrade.

Low-E Glass
Low-E (Low Emissivity) coatings are one of the best ways to boost energy efficiency.
They reflect heat back inside during winter and reduce heat gain during summer, cutting energy bills and improving comfort year-round.

Argon Gas Fill
Gas-filled glazing (typically argon gas) slows the transfer of heat and sound between the glass panes, helping maintain a stable indoor temperature.

Insert Windows are a fast, affordable solution when your existing frames and flashings are still in good condition.
